1. Who We Are

Ordermate is a WhatsApp commerce platform founded by Eric Dabankah and operated under Parker Technologies, based in Accra, Ghana. When we say "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean Parker Technologies. You can reach us at privacy@ordermate.app. Ordermate is owned by Eric Dabankah, operating under Parker Technologies.

2. Data We Collect

We collect different types of data depending on whether you are a Merchant (business owner) or a Customer (end buyer).

We do not collect your full card numbers — payments are handled securely by Paystack, which is PCI-DSS compliant.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide, operate, and improve the Ordermate platform.
• To process orders and facilitate payments between Merchants and Customers.
• To power the Abena AI assistant on behalf of Merchants.
• To send transactional notifications (order confirmations, payment receipts).
• To send service updates and important platform announcements.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to serve third-party advertising.

4. Who We Share Data With

We only share data with trusted partners who help us operate the service:

• Paystack — payment processing (card and bank transfers).
• MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo — Mobile Money payment processing.
• Meta (WhatsApp) — message delivery via the WhatsApp Business API.
• Cloudflare — infrastructure, CDN, and DDoS protection.
• Google Maps — delivery distance and fee calculations.

All partners are bound by data processing agreements and applicable privacy laws. We never sell your data.

5. Data Retention

• Account data is retained while your account is active and for 12 months after closure.
• Order and transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial regulations.
• WhatsApp conversation data related to orders is retained for 90 days.
• You may request deletion of your personal data at any time (see Section 7).

6. Data Security

We take security seriously. Measures include:

• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2+.
• Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256.
• Access to customer data is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
• We conduct regular security reviews and penetration testing.
• Our infrastructure runs on Cloudflare's globally distributed network.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights over your data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to certain uses of your data.

8. Cookies & Tracking

Our website uses minimal cookies for:

• Session management (keeping you logged in).
• Anonymous analytics to understand how the site is used (no personal identifiers).

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

9. Children's Privacy

Ordermate is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. International Transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed in Ghana and within Africa. When data is transferred internationally (e.g. via Cloudflare infrastructure), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect.
